Bounding box constraint

Define a bounding box constraint between two objects a rectangle, ellipse or circle and another element

×

Showcase steps

  1. Select text
  2. Click Add a bounding box
  3. Edit rectangle properties
  4. Open Constraints panel
  5. Change margin property
  6. Add filter
  7. Move and resize the rectangle. The text position is updated by the constraint
  8. Change text size. The rectangle is updated by the constraint.
  9. Select ellipse
  10. Add (CTRL+click) the shape to the selection to apply a bounding box constraint to them
  11. Open Selection menu
  12. Click Constraints tab
  13. Click add bounding box constraint
  14. Select circle and symbol
  15. Click add bounding box constraint
  16. Move elements

Play
Chaining constraints

Chain constraints.
Constraints are propagated between objects.

×

Showcase steps

  1. Text and circle are linked by a bounding box constraint
  2. Draw and connect lines between centers.Activate point capture.
  3. Select a circle and move it.
  4. Move a text

Play
Clipping constraints

Define clipping constraints

×

Showcase steps

  1. Select circle to define as clip path to be applied to the image.
  2. Open selection menu
  3. Click constraints tab
  4. Click add clip constraint
  5. Move the circle.clipping is updated by the constraint.
  6. Select closed path to define as clip path to be applied to the image.
  7. Select the polygon to apply as clip path to multiple objects.

Play
Constraint connected points

Link points between objects with connect constraints.
Constraints are executed in background after each user action on impacted objects.

×

Showcase steps

  1. Enable point capture to connect points when drawing objects.
  2. Enable point capture.
  3. Draw a triangle sharing points with the dashed polylines.
  4. Click on the blue highlight point to connect the triangle edge with it.
  5. Draw another connected triangle.
  6. The translation of the point is propagated to the connected objects by constraints.
  7. Connect an object's point by moving it near the connexion point.
  8. Click on the connexion point.
  9. Click properties to view constraints applied to the object.
  10. Select constraints tab.
  11. Constraints can be modified and removed
